EEI Testing
Information
Allegheny Energy uses employment tests to evaluate candidates for many of its positions. Most of the tests we use were developed by the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) and are exclusively used by electric utilities to fairly and objectively select quality employees.
EEI Practice Tests
EEI has developed practice tests to provide candidates an idea of the types of questions that may be found on the actual tests. To access the practice test site, please click on the link and then type the name alltest and the password power.
If you have a pop-up blocker on your machine, you may need to disable it or you can override the blocker by either turning the pop-up blocker off or by holding the control key down when you click on the link to the practice tests.
Currently Allegheny Energy is using the following
tests:
- CAST (lineworker, substation electrician, and other similar
positions)
- TECH (engineering technician and similar positions)
- POSS and MASS (power station worker positions)
- CSR (customer service representative positions)
Please note that this website does not provide an
all inclusive list of employment tests used by Allegheny Energy and contains
information regarding Edison Electric Institute employment tests only. Additional
employment tests may apply to this and other positions within the company.
EEI’s testing program has been developed, scientifically
validated, and proven to comply with all applicable Federal laws and guidelines.
Re-test process – applicants/employees may take a particular
battery of tests once every six months.
Allegheny Energy is an equal opportunity employer.
