Voluntary Protection Program (VPP)
VPP is administered by the U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, (OSHA) to recognize companies that demonstrate commitment to workplace safety health beyond the requirement of the OSHA standards. Star status is given to companies who have demonstrated leadership in occupational safety and health by successfully protecting workers from death, injury, and illness through the implementing of comprehensive and effective programs.
Allegheny Energy currently has nine (9) facilities recognized as VPP STAR sites by the U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, (OSHA).
